Join us for Metabolic Health Day 2025 in Tucson, Arizona on October 10–11 for a powerful in-person conference!
This two-day event will bring together thought leaders, practitioners, researchers, and advocates to explore cutting-edge insights in metabolic health, terrain-based healing, and integrative cancer care.
Metabolic Health Day was created to raise awareness about the critical role metabolic function plays in our overall health, longevity, and ability to prevent and heal from chronic diseases—including cancer. “Metabolic health” refers to the optimal functioning of systems like blood sugar regulation, inflammation control, hormone balance, mitochondrial activity, and cellular repair—foundational processes that affect nearly every aspect of well-being.
This day serves as a national reminder that through informed lifestyle choices, targeted therapies, and personalized medical care, individuals can take powerful steps toward lasting health. Initiated by the Metabolic Terrain Institute of Health (MTIH), Metabolic Health Day brings together education, advocacy, and innovation to spotlight the clinical tools, research, and community support that can transform the future of care.
Metabolic health is the foundation of overall well-being, yet an overwhelming majority of Americans are living with some form of metabolic dysfunction—often without even knowing it. In fact, only 6.8% to 12% of U.S. adults are considered metabolically healthy, meaning their blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and inflammation markers are within optimal ranges.
This is especially important because metabolic dysfunction is directly linked to the development and progression of chronic diseases, including cancer. Research continues to highlight the profound connection between poor metabolic health and the “cancering” process, influencing factors like immune function, inflammation, mitochondrial performance, and cellular repair.
The Metabolic Terrain Institute of Health works to bring awareness to what we call the 10 Hallmarks of Metabolic Imbalance, which include:
Each of these areas impacts the body’s ability to heal, thrive, and prevent disease. By addressing them, we move closer to truly personalized, root-cause-driven care.
Stabilizing your glucose levels is key to reducing inflammation and supporting mitochondrial function. Eat whole, nutrient-dense foods, minimize refined carbs and sugar, and practice time-restricted eating or intermittent fasting (when appropriate).
Your mitochondria are the energy centers of your cells and play a vital role in metabolic health. Support them by focusing on restorative practices, balanced nutrition, and lifestyle habits that reduce stress and promote efficient energy production.
Minimize exposure to environmental toxins by using clean personal care and household products, filtering your water, and supporting gentle detoxification through sweating, hydration, and lymphatic movement.
Aim for 7–9 hours of high-quality sleep each night. Deep sleep is critical for cellular repair, hormone balance, and metabolic regulation. Create a calming bedtime routine and limit screen time before bed.
Incorporate regular physical activity that supports circulation, insulin sensitivity, and lymphatic flow. Walking, strength training, and restorative movement like yoga or rebounding all support terrain health.
Take the Terrain Ten™ Assessment to understand how your body is functioning across 10 key biological systems—including immune health, inflammation, hormones, and more. Personalized awareness is the foundation of empowered healing.
